hello i am 14 years old i have tight curls and i am tired of wearing my hair the same i am i cant straighten it much i wear it in a bun pony taile r sum up and some down and i never wear it down becuz my hair gets really big like really quick and i tried everything like rolling it braiding it putting frizz stuff in it paul mitchell almost propably every thing and i cant get my hair in a high pony tail i am a disaster some on help me please !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... ASAP I GO TO SCHOOL 2 MORROW

Awww. This reminds me of me when I was your age. I am also mixed. (Puerto Rican/Brazilian/Greek) And I have extremely tight curly hair because of my latin side of the family.

I would even cry, I couldn't handle the stress of having such poofy hair. When I was about 15 I started wearing alot of gel and moose. I'm talking about alot. I would divide my hair in 2 sections to make it a bit easier, grab some moose first, scrunch my hair, and put alot of gel and comb it. Then do the same with the other side.

After I got tired of wasting so much money on hair products I got a relaxer, now my hair is sooo much easier to handle.

My parents would have never let me get a relaxer because they said it wasn't good for my hair, but when I was 18 I got one. If your parents are like mine, for now just do what I did, then when your old enough, get it relaxed.

Do you have friends who are African-American? If so, ask them how they manage their hair. Try some of those products on your own. I don't know that you can really fix it for tomorrow though.

look hun...all you gots to do is find a hairstyle to suit your hair type oh yea and try stylin your hair wet...i have hair like that 2 and if you style it wet it will hold

you can straighten it get a good flat iron and some oil and get t work!....coconut preferably...hit up Sally's beauty supply also

you might not want to use hair products for Caucasian ppl either!

well my friend has curly haior and she stratins her hair and what she does is she takes a shower at night and stratins it as soon as her hair drys because if she didn't then it would go curly

Try using some kind of hardening gel it'll help keep ur hair from getting really frizzy. Go to a black owned salon also they can give you some good advice.

You could use a hot comb or a relaxer

First off, you don't have "bad" hair just because it's ethnic. You have different hair that needs different products and different techniques. When properly cared for, your hair can be the best in the room!

Did you ever try using Mixed Chicks hair products or Miss Jessie's? Both products were created for mixed girls with curly hair. They'll help to define and soften your curls. There are instructions and techniques (twist out, coil out, shingling) on the Miss Jessie's site that'll help.

If you want it straight, try flat ironing it with Simply Stylin'. It's a pure silicone product and will get your hair really straight with heat. It gets rid of frizz and makes hair shine.
