What hairspray can REALLY hold up the flatest hair and can curl the straightest ones?

I'm going for this messy, big upper hair look, but I can never seem to get it because my hair is normally so flat and straight. How can I change that? How can I maximize hair poof?

Well, I have the same problem as you...super straight flat hair. The truth of it is...you can't really curl hair that does not want to curl, especially if there is an ounce of humidity in the air :( BUT...you can poof up your hair and have some waves to it.

Over the years, the best volumizer I have found is Bumble and Bumble. And I like their hair shine too. But if that is not easily accessible, you can try the Pantene gel volumizer. To get a great "big" wavy style...do the following:

1. Apply volumizer of your choice to wet hair...mainly at the roots. Dry you hair with hair dryer, section by section with a big round brush or if you are short on time and patience like me...you can just flip your hair over after applying the volumizer and dry it with the hair dryer. It sounds crazy but it works wonders for giving volume to hair at the roots.

2. For waves, you can either set your hair in hot rollers or use a big barrelled curling iron and curl hair. Spray each section with hair spray as you curl it.

3. Once you are done curling all your hair, DO NOT comb it. Just run your fingers thru it, finish with some shine spray and voila!!

The best thing to do is use a hair product such as Aussie Mega Scrunch spray, in the purple bottle, and then use a diffuser on it. Volumizing mousse is also helpful!

theres a lot. i really like "professional" it can be sold at walmart and its black and white and smells really good =]. and also i forgot the name of it but its sold at walmart and its yellow and sorta looks like one of the blow horn things. i think it says like hard as glue on it. something like that. but u wont miss it its bright yellow and big not hard to find. well that one works really well!

I use Aussie brand hairspray for my hair. I have very thick hair and it holds it in place pretty good

The best hairspray, in my opinion, is John Freida Frizzease (sp?). I have wavy hair, and it seems to curl my hair just right and without the frizz. It holds very well, too.

Sebastian's Shaper %26amp; Shaper+ work great without leaving your hair stiff and breaking when you try to brush/comb it. Available at Beauty supply stores or Target and of course salons. It holds best while keeping hair touchable.

curl and tease, and use aqua net. it may be old, but it is the best hold. just look at all the older "up-do's" from the 50's. (ie, the movie "hairspray") It is what I found to be the best, long lasting, holding spray.
